Cloud computing is here. Microsoft Azure is all about cloud computing. Microsoft Partners can get involved now!

What is Microsoft Azure?

Windows Azure is a cloud computing platform. Customer can rent the platform as a service. Customers can install their applications, run their IT infrastructure and store data in Microsoft data centers.

You can use the service in 3 ways:

- Windows Azure: operating system as a service
- Microsoft SQL Azure: Relational database in a cloud
- Windows Azure platform AppFabric:  connectivity services to connect cloud and on-premise applications

What are the benefits of Microsoft Azure?

Microsoft Azure helps you scale your IT infrastructure.  The platform is flexible, scalable, interoperable and available at all times. The price point is also very reasonable.  It is well said by Debra little john shinder “Azure provides organizations with all the benefits of an enterprise-class data center without the hassle, headaches, and cost of maintaining such an entity.”

On Slideshare.net, I found David Gristwood PowerPoint on Azure platform. He explains Azure very well.

As a Microsoft Partner, how do I get started?

To engage partners on Azure, Microsoft has launched Partner Hub which is powered by Microsoft Partner Network.  It is available now. This resource is developed to help you save time.

At Azure PartnerHub, you can easily:

  1. Get plugged into latest information about Azure. Topics such as 10 reasons to use Azure, discounted cloud pricing and many more are being shared.
  2. How to get started on Azure is available. You can learn, build and connect with partners.
  3. You can interact on Azure related blogs.
  4. Sign up for communications on Azure.
